Sing with the Village Voices Chorale

Auditions are closed for this semester. We will announce auditions for the Spring 2025 semester in December 2024. 

Choral singing experience and good sight-reading skills are a plus. The chorale is a fun group of people who love making music together. 

Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings in Westlake Village.

The group rehearses on Tuesday evenings  7:30p.m. - 10:00p.m. in Westlake Village, CA.     

What happens at your audition?

•  Auditions will be held at United Methodist Church of Westlake Village . The audition itself lasts approximately 15 minutes.
• The audition will be with our director Gloria, our President and Membership Chair.
• To determine your vocal range, you will be asked to sing  up and down a scale.
• Sing back a piano part to demonstrate your ability to learn by ear.
• Sight- read provided music.
• You should come prepared to sing a song you feel best demonstrates your vocal talent. You may bring sheet music, sing from memory, sing a cappella or bring an instrument recording to sing with.   Our choir director can accompany you.

Requirements:

• Being able to read music is strongly recommended. 
•  Membership Dues are required to pay for music and other expenses- $35.00 for full time students  and $75.00 for non students.
• Concert attire must be purchased as well.

Directed by Gloria Hilliard and accompanied by Christine DeKlotz, the Village Voices Chorale offers an entertaining blend of choral music from Classical to Broadway.
